I think I just died of cuteness..

Wednesday Apr 4 @ 08:33pmIt is DONE! I’ve been working on this on and off for a little while and I’m very pleased with the results. The original image is this one from an old Angelic Pretty coloring book. I got rid of some of the random stuff in the background and the pony, drew in K-9 and the TARDIS, and colored everything! The dress is a nebula, this one to be exact. Maybe not what Angelic Pretty thought would happen to their coloring pages, but it was a lot of fun!

Tuesday Apr 4 @ 07:02pmToday’s outfit,

I love lolita’s neon nostalgia for the 1980s as much as the next girl, but let’s talk about the really historically-influenced side of lolita for a minute. Or longer.
A while ago, I wrote a rather lengthy essay for the Dressed to a Tea lolita forum that went into a good amount of depth discussing the influence of eighteenth century aesthetics and fashion on lolita, but I’m not going to bother regurgitating any of that essay here. However, in the essay I do discuss the various ways that one can go about creating historically-inspired lolita looks, and that’s something that I’d like to talk about a bit more. Creating a historically-inspired look is both challenging and fun, so, in the next few articles, I’ll be showing you some different ways of channeling late eighteenth century style in sweet, classic, and gothic outfits. Right now, though, let’s take a look at the 1760s.
This is a topic I was thinking of doing a blog series on, but this is way better than anything I could’ve come up with! Historically-inclined lolis, please check this out! ♥
